Check your sensitivity to electromagnetic waves
with this questionnaire :

votre sensibilité face aux ondes électromagnétiques

EHSI

The EHSI form is the first questionnaire to offer a conservative self-assessment of your sensitivity to environmental electromagnetic waves.

You will be able to assess how your body responds to low frequency and high frequency stimuli, and to develop an "electromagnetic lifestyle" allowing you to know how to protect yourself and reduce your level of exposure.

Before answering the ADULT or CHILD/PARENT
questionnaire it is important to read the following information

(It takes less than 20 minutes)

The parent/child self-assessment takes into account potential symptoms listed in various studies, scientific reports and recommendations from global health organizations regarding children and their behavior.

Smartphones, wifi, game consoles, tablets, e-book readers are now daily used by most teenagers and children. What will be the biological impact of electromagnetic waves and more specifically the risks to growing children ?

Understanding our children's behavior when it comes to artificial waves is a real challenge. This generation is the most difficult to educate on that topic because of their hyper-connectedness. Their identity itself is compromised: "if I am not connected, I do not exist, I cannot find my place". It is a sad but true fact. Children born after 1990 cannot be shielded from all the existing electromagnetic fields.

In April 2012, at the London "Children with cancer 2012" congress, the gathered scientists spoke without hesitation about "the greatest technological experience in the history of our kind".
From the moment they are embryos, and while their intestinal and blood-brain barriers are still forming, children are exposed to not only waves, but also toxic substances and processed foods.

Among young people, smartphone use is extremely worrisome. Nobody could have ever imagined that smartphones would cause public health issues, like other "technological gems, unless used in a safe manner.

Exposure to cell phone waves and wireless technologies could impair the development of the brain in fetuses and newborns. It could increase the risk of hyperactivity, behavioral problems, and learning disabilities.

According to Jennifer Maherou, in charge of scientific information at ASEF, the organization for environmental health in France : "Prenatal exposure to waves is alarming because it is during that time that the fetus’ brain is the most fragile, while it is developing. A Danish study published in 2008 concluded that fetuses exposed to waves are 54% more likely to present behavioral disorders during their lifetime.

According to a survey conducted by AFPA (the French organization for ambulatory pediatrics), nearly one out oftwo children under the age of 3 (47%) use interactive screens such as tablets or smartphones.

American psychologist Jean M. Twenge has been studying the social and emotional behavior of young people for twenty-five years. 2012 proved to bea pivotal year: more than one out of two teenagers had a smartphone. Today, it is four out of five.

During this time, the following trends appeared; they affect all categories of the population, rich or poor :

  • Between 2012 and 2015, signs of depression increased by 50% among girls and by 21% among boys
  • Between 2007 and 2015, the number of girls who committed suicide tripled, and that of boys doubled
  • Between 2000 and 2015, the number of young people who saw friends every day dropped by 40%
  • Currently, 16year-olds go out less than 12year-olds did back in 2009. They are gradually no longer going out or socializing in parks, playgrounds, etc. They are staying home alone with their smartphones
  • In 2015, only 56% of 12th-grade students dated someone, compared to 85% ten years earlier. That figure had been stable since the 1960s
  • From 1991 to 2015, the number of children who were sleep-deprived increased by 57%
  • In the United States, where every teenager used to dream of having a driver’s license, as it meant freedom, we are noticing a massive loss of interest in driving among teenagers, who would rather stay in their room with their smartphone and be driven around by their parents
  • They go out less often, but the few times they do, they communicate about it abundantly on Snapchat, Instagram or Facebook. The children who see the posts but have not been invited to join in the outing feel painfully excluded: from 2010 to 2015,the number of girls feeling rejected and alone increased by 48%,and 27% for boys

Paradox !
Steve Jobs, Apple’s boss, had banned smartphone use for his children.
Bill Gates, founder of Microsoft, did not want a computer in his home.

Had these "IT geniuses" noticed a problem that their customers hadn’t ?

The questionnaire looks at nine aspects of sensitivity to artificial waves: the type of professional exposure, the type of personal exposure, the impact on the brain, the heart, the breathing, the skin, the eyesight, the behavior, and other potential effects.

Your results are not a medical diagnosis. However, they can encourage you to seek medical/psychotherapeutic help, or seek advice from artificial wave experts.

Important. The symptoms presented here may have various origins and come with a variety of psychological and physical ailments. The questionnaire only acts as a barometer, to help us understand the effects of artificial waves on our body.

Your physician and field experts are the only qualified professionals that can diagnose electrosensitivity and prescribe a treatment or issue specific recommendations.

It is crucial to understand that electro-hyper sensitivity, which we address here, is not pathology.

Electro-hyper sensitivity is how our body responds to a stimulus.

Picture this : skin represents our brain; lemon juice represents low frequencies and pepper, high frequencies. If you put pepper or lemon on your hand, your body won’t react. However, if you bring your hand up to your nose and breathe in the pepper, you will sneeze; if you put lemon juice on a wound,it will sting. When our brain is subjected to artificial waves, the BBB (Blood-Brain Barrier) may eventually open in response to wave stimuli.

Sophie Gareau was a human resources consultant for 5 years, and has always had a heart for the youth and their development. In 2003 she created and marketed the CEP (Center for the evaluation of potential), a career guidance tool for students. In 2004, she developed a methodology to assess adult and junior skills. Finally, in 2005, she created Opti Mum, a personalized support system to physically and mentally help mothers during their pre and post natal months.

At the same time, she trained to become a personal coach and a team building expert while getting certified on different psychometrics tools such as the MBTI (Myers Briggs Type Indicator). This psychological assessment tool, based on one’s personality self evaluation, gave her the idea to create survey to allow anyone to assess their level of physiological sensitivity to artificial waves.

You know yourself best and are best placed to assess your own level of electro-sensitivity.

In order to develop the "parent" / "adult" questionnaire, and to measure one’s overall level of both indoor and outdoor environmental exposure, Sophie Gareau based her research on numerous scientific studies, works, and medical journals, and thus identified tangible symptoms. The questionnaire takes into account potential symptoms listed in various studies, scientific reports and recommendations from global health organizations.

(Sources : global and independent scientific and epidemiological studies: In 2011, WHO (the World Health Organization) classified electromagnetic waves as "potentially carcinogenic" ; the ANSES (National Agency for Food Safety, Environment and Labor) published an expert report on exposure to radio frequencies and children's health ; the Feychting study (1992 leukemia and high-voltage line) ; the Concordance Association of Physicians ; the European Council’s 1815 Resolution ; the 18 October 2006 Decree on the accounting of electrical and electronic equipment ; and hundreds of studies from international force us to legitimately question the safety of these frequencies and electromagnetic fields; AFM-SICEM (Association of the Patients of the Syndrome of Intolerance to the Electro Magnetic Fields) ; ARTAC (A Association for Anti-Cancer Therapeutic Research).

The first symptoms were noted during the 2nd World War. Radio operators constantly worked in direct contact with or around a radio transmitter to communicate with the staff. Several of them reported various disabling symptoms that led to the description of the first syndrome named (radio wave sickness).

On earth, we are subjected to two types of electromagnetic fields :

  • Natural ones
  • Man-made ones (artificial)

This assessment only considers the electromagnetic fields produced by man :

  • 50Hz BF electric fields (low frequency)
  • 50Hz BF magnetic fields (low frequency)
  • 300MHz HF and 300GHz HF microwave frequencies (high frequency).

Whether we are at home, at work, traveling, at the hotel, on the beach, in a vacation resort, at a friend's house ... we can say without a doubt that we are under the influence of electromagnetic fields.

Electromagnetic fields are increasingly present in our personal and professional environment. They are invisible and odorless but are identifiable and, thankfully, measurable. Many global and independent scientific and epidemiological studies point to the fact that overexposure to electromagnetic fields is harmful to our health.

We now know that electromagnetic fields disrupt our cells, as well as our endocrine and immune systems.

A legal standard is not a biological limit. Current standards vary from one country to another, and don’t take into account the 0/15year-old age group, which is the most exposed and the most vulnerable. Insurance companies stopped covering the risks associated with these waves in 2003, so we must ask ourselves the right questions.

In our grandparents’ time, only 50Hz electromagnetic fields were found at home: there were no relay antennas, no CPL (online power lines), no WIFI, no smartphones, and other devices which have flooded and saturated our environment with waves.

We are no longer subjected to a single type of artificial waves but to a multitude of waves which overlap and have become a health hazard.

Some people, who are more sensitive to this type of waves, have begun to feel more or less intensely their effects. Although medical experts still struggle to identify symptoms, they are recognized in many countries except for France.

High frequency or microwave radiation :

  • Mobile phones and relay antennas with 2G, 3G 4G and upcoming 5G
  • Landline wireless DECT phones: The base radiates continuously, more weakly when the handset is on it, and more strongly when the handset is away
  • WIFI connection: between a router and a computer or TV, between a smartphone and hot spots (restaurants, airports, train stations, and hotels)
  • Bluetooth connection between a wireless mouse and a computer, or between a wireless headset and a smartphone
  • Microwave ovens, radars and other new technologies using microwave frequencies
  • The list of connected objects is undergoing an explosive growth

Low frequency electric fields are produced by :

  • Live electrical equipment
  • Networks of live electrical wires

Low frequency magnetic fields are produced by :

  • Power lines, especially HV (high voltage)
  • Transformers
  • Electric engines
  • Appliances with coils
  • High power electrical appliances (kW): electric heaters, induction hot plates, etc.

The permanent increase in electromagnetic fields (antennas, WiFi, Bluetooth, 4G, mobiles, ...) and the explosion in the number of connected devices (wireless games, communicating meters, home appliances, ...), means that we are all exposed. But we don’t all respond the same way to exposure. Very rarely will a single element be the cause of a pathology (unless the exposure is extremely high) ; it will usually be the effect of cumulative elements, or co-factors.

Symptoms will vary depending on the intensity of the radiation (e.g. measured in Volt/meter, nano tesla) and the type of electromagnetic fields (antennas, radar, high voltage line, etc.)

A legal norm is not a biological limit !
People can be quite sensitive without showing immediate symptoms, but these can occur on the medium / long term.
We are faced with the same issue as asbestos some years ago.
